Dentures & Partials

Dentures and partial dentures are semi-permanent solutions to missing teeth. Southern Smiles aims to provide you with high-quality options that you can rely on for everyday oral tasks.

Full & Partial Dentures

There are two types of traditional dentures: full and partial dentures. Full dentures are used when all of a patient’s upper or lower teeth are gone; they’re typically attached to a gum-colored acrylic base and support a full row of natural-looking ceramic teeth. If there are still some teeth left in your mouth, partial dentures can be used to stop them from shifting around by filling in the gaps.

Implant Supported Dentures

In some cases, full dentures can be supported by dental implants. Dentures secured in the mouth this way won’t slip while you’re chewing or talking.

Implants are an excellent way to preserve jawbone strength. Normally when permanent teeth have been lost, there’s bone loss in the unused area. This can eventually affect the patient’s facial structure and cause them to look older. By using implants to support your dentures, you can prevent this deterioration from occurring. As a bonus, implants provide nearly as much chewing force as natural teeth, ensuring that you’ll be able to eat whatever you want.
